Houston-based GHX Industrial, LLC (ghxinc.com), a subsidiary of The United Distribution Group (udginc.com), reported today that it has acquired the operations and assets of Decatur, Alabama-based Specialty Rubber & Gasket.
According to Richard Harrison, President of GHX Industrial, the operations of Specialty Rubber & Gasket located in Decatur, Alabama are now a part of GHX Industrial LLC.
"Expanding our service area throughout the US and Canada is an ongoing strategic focus for GHX, and the acquisition of the SR&G location complements our already strong North American presence," said Darrell Cole, President & CEO of The United Distribution Group.
Former owners of SR&G, Matt and Shelly Hames, will remain with the Decatur operation and stated that they are looking forward to continuing to grow the already successful GHX name in the Decatur market.
SR&G is currently located at 3158 Hwy 20, Bldg. 3, Decatur, AL, 35601. For now, SR&G will continue to operate in its current location. Additionally, the company announced that is has secured a brand new 10,000-square-foot location in Decatur that will handle GHX’s and SR&G’s combined operations. The new location is at 3231 Hwy 20, Decatur, AL, 35601. GHX has begun its operations at the new site and will incorporate SR&G’s operations into the site in late 2014 or early 2015.
